Long standing and highly respected Queensland architectural and engineering firm, McVeigh Consultants, has significantly expanded its team of talent to support its continued growth and strategic drive into a broader market share.
Known as one of the most experienced firms in the industrial and logistics market with a history that spans back over 34 years, recently appointed CEO, Yasmine Gray says, “the time has come for McVeigh to branch deeper into other markets” and has secured a number of key architects and engineers to support this new strategic approach.
Retail, multi-residential and education are three key areas the company will focus on expanding its remit over the coming months. Whilst these are not new markets for McVeigh Ms Gray says the intention is to now expand the consultancy’s footprint so it can deliver a more consistent and dynamically varied offering.
“We have experience in a wide array of typologies; however, our core expertise and focus has been in the industrial market over recent years. We will continue to deliver for this very important and still growing market as our knowledge is second to none in that space. However, we now have the talent and resources to take on a greater volume of more diverse projects and we look forward to showing the market what we can do.”
Amongst the new team members that will be helping to drive this strategic push is Imran Naeem, who has made the move from Sydney to join McVeigh as Associate Structural Engineer. With a strong background in residential, commercial, educational and health projects Mr Naeem is looking forward to leading teams on a range of new design types.
“I have been so impressed by McVeigh’s support with my relocation to Queensland. It is wonderful to be joining such a great and talented team.
“McVeigh has many strengths, and I am looking forward to using my diverse engineering background and core strength in the building sector to reinforce this.
“I joined McVeigh to make a positive impact on the business and I am very confident with the help of such a great, established team we will achieve some big milestones this year and beyond.”
McVeigh prides itself on being one of the few truly integrated, multi-disciplinary consultancies in Queensland so it has been important to also expand its team of architects, which continues to grow under the direction of Team Leader and Senior Associate Architect, Elliot Blucher.
“McVeigh’s integrated design model means we can offer something completely different from the traditional architecture firms,” said Mr Blucher. “I am very proud of the architecture team we have built, the passion and creativity I see every day is inspiring and our unique way of working with our engineers is both compelling and exciting. We can’t wait to show how strong our team is beyond industrial and the value we have to offer.”
McVeigh continues to recruit and expand but Ms Gray says she is no rush with her expansion plans for the firm with a determination to maintain a key focus on quality and putting people first.
“Whatever we do we will put our people first at McVeigh – it is our people that will help drive this business to success and with the talent we have at present I am confident we can go from a good company to a great one.
“The future for us is bright and our approach will remain unique and innovative. We aim to lead rather than to follow and as we bring more great people onto our teams I am looking forward to seeing where our new adventures will take us.”
