Frasers Property Australia, has reached 100 years of shaping neighbourhoods across the country to foster strong connections among communities.
One of Australia’s oldest and most highly regarded property developers, Frasers Property Australia, has reached 100 years of shaping neighbourhoods across the country to foster strong connections among communities.
Since 1924, the one constant throughout Frasers Property’s history in Australia has been a commitment to creating connections within its projects which hark back to a time when everyone knew your name and dinner time was determined by when the streetlights turned on.
In 2024, Frasers Property’s second annual Great Neighbourhood Survey proved this commitment is still at the forefront of the business, finding 85% of residents feel connected and know their neighbours by name.
The survey coincided with Neighbour Day celebrations across its communities throughout March, further focusing on community engagement, with activities designed to bring people together.
These activities included Clean Up Australia Day at Brookhaven in Queensland, Dinner at Dusk Food Trucks on Port Coogee’s Marina community in Western Australia, Centenary celebrations at The Grove in Victoria and a gardening workshop at Midtown MacPark in New South Wales, to name a few.
The second iteration of the survey conducted in Frasers Property Australia’s centennial year found:
Cameron Leggatt, CEO of Frasers Property Australia says, “The Great Neighbourhood Survey launched in 2023, was designed to measure the experience of residents living in the communities we create. The data enables us to benchmark ourselves against our belief of creating stronger, smarter, happier neighbourhoods. We’re committed to running the survey annually so we can continue to improve the experience for our residents and surrounding community members.”
Frasers Property Australia has built its reputation as one of the most trusted developers in the country with a rich history dating back to 1924.
It has played a significant role in shaping the country's urban landscape, with over 145,000 homes built, creating communities for over 350,000 residents, 13 retail centres with 55,000 square metres of retail space currently under management and a further 20 communities currently progressing across Australia, including Bradmill Yarraville, the latest community recently launched in Victoria.
Its history of contributing to neighbourhoods began on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast where it was responsible for shaping many of the local communities between the 1920s and 1960s.
More recently it has been responsible for some of the most iconic residential precincts in modern construction, including Burwood Brickworks in Victoria.
Central Park in Sydney, New South Wales, saw Frasers Property transform a derelict site into one of the city’s busiest precincts featuring residential and student living, a multi-level shopping centre and multiple hotels set amongst lush gardens.
Cova on the Gold Coast in Queensland saw Frasers Property re-visit its coastal roots creating a close-knit waterside community with unrivalled amenity around a 2.6 hectare private marina.
Looking ahead, Frasers Property Australia remains committed to building places that foster a sense of belonging. Its ethos of connection is flowing through to customers and residents as early planning for future developments now features a focus on belonging from the beginning.
This includes working with local government as early as possible to ensure planning has an intense focus on people.
"Our passion for property and commitment to leaving a lasting legacy is something that's remained a clear constant from T.M Burke, through to Frasers Property Australia," said Mr Leggatt.
"We're incredibly proud of the communities we've helped create, and we look forward to building even stronger connections in the years to come."
As it raises the bat for a century of creating proud communities in 2024, Frasers Property will celebrate and acknowledge its milestone which includes iterations as T.M Burke Pty Ltd, Hooker Corporation, Australand and now Frasers Property Australia, during which time it had earned over 400 national and international industry awards recognising its excellence in planning, designing and developing connected communities.
Award recognitions range from design, retail, revitalisation and overall development of the year with connectivity at the core of each criterion.
Existing members of Frasers Property’s Care & Rewards program are set to benefit from the milestone with Frasers Property giving away a holiday to Noosa worth $10,000 to one lucky winner.
