The Urban Development Institute of Australia has held their virtual awards 2020 and we continue to share the winners of each category. Today we congratulate Brisbane City Council. The Diversity in Development Award is sponsored by Pacific Building Management Group.
Brisbane City Council has been named as the winner of the 2020 Diversity In Development Award in the UDIA Wingate National Awards for Excellence!
The Judges noted that Brisbane City Council clearly lives and breathes diversity. Its integrated diversity policies are lived, resulting in a loyal workforce which reflects the communities they serve – cohesive internal and external communities of inclusion, which gives a competitive edge.
Brisbane City Council’s approach focuses on implementing genuine diversity and inclusion initiatives, despite the challenges - evolving from viewing diversity and inclusion as an act of compliance, to one where leadership and policies recognise and acknowledge the positive value of engaging with and embracing human difference.
Brisbane City Council does indeed have a deep understanding of what it means to be inclusive and models this at every opportunity - a blueprint to follow!
