Canberra developer Geocon is the latest addition to the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World's International Project Marketing Program, having established a strong presence in Australia's capital across the past decade.
Proud Canberran Nick Georgalis has always been passionate about improving his home town.
Such was his desire to have a positive influence on the nation's capital that it led him to found what is now Australia's fourth-largest builder-developer.
Throughout the past 11 years, Geocon has grown to deliver up-to 2000 Canberra-based apartments to the market annually, specialising in mixed-use developments which include affordable, quality residential offerings, commercial spaces and hotels in vibrant destinations.
The developer is the latest addition to the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World's International Marketing Program, an initiative launched last year to broaden the global reach of developers within the LeadingRE network.
LeadingRE Director of Global Project Marketing & Business Development Parikshat Chawla said Geocon had distinguished itself in the Canberra market.
“LeadingRE is happy to feature one of Canberra’s best-known developers in our International Project Marketing Program," he said.
"Australia’s capital city has some great options for overseas property investors, and Geocon’s High Society development is an outstanding example."

After starting out building small cottages, it didn't take Geocon long to move onto luxury homes, townhouses and high-density residential developments.
Last year, the company was named Property Council of Australia’s Business of the Year in 2019 on the back of a series of well-received projects, including Grand Central Towers, Metropol, The Establishment, Aspen Village and Republic in 2018-2019, as well as settlement at Midnight, Infinity and Wayfarer.
The success of these developments is supported by the strength of the Canberra market, which has been driven by strong population growth, limited land, Australia's highest average wages and lowest unemployment rate.
The market is protected by a robust government and bureaucratic life, helping create an almost failsafe property market.
The presence of two of Australia’s largest universities (ANU and UC), with an additional campus planned for UNSW, further supports the marketplace.
In addition to strong employment from government and university sectors, Canberra attracts other large industries, and about 50 percent of the adult population is privately employed.
Large consulting giants like Ernst and Young and Deloitte have set up shop in Canberra city, while private defense companies like Thales, Lockheed and Raytheon all operate from Canberra.
Geocon has the biggest development pipeline in the city, which moves between 30 percent and 50 percent of total ACT market share.

The company is set to expand its portfolio with the Republic precinct, which is the largest residential development currently under construction in Australia.
Comprising 1200 apartments, a hotel, and retail opportunities in four towers, the project will be home to the tallest buildings in Canberra, including the 27-storey High Society glass residential towers, which stand at 113 and 100 metres tall.
The Republic precinct will benefit from the area’s advanced infrastructure and connectivity, which includes a light rail and an international airport that has three carriers moving people from Canberra to the rest of the world each day.
Canberrans also enjoy good food, culture and entertainment, with the city having the strongest showing of hatted restaurants, professional sports teams, entertainment venues and cultural activities per capita.
Its position, surrounded by native bushland, helps Canberrans feel connected to the bush – an important part of life in the territory.
