A landmark apartment development in South Brisbane has just been completed, creating the tallest building in Brisbane south of the river and setting new construction records.
The Brisbane 1 apartment complex has taken its place on the South Brisbane skyline, with $500 million development now complete
Consisting of three separate towers of up to 33 storeys, Brisbane 1 occupies an entire block bordered by Cordelia, Peel and Boundary Streets.
The project is the largest in a series of new residential developments that have been transforming Brisbane’s fast-growing inner south into a thriving lifestyle destination.
More than 80 per cent of the 608 apartments at Brisbane 1 have been sold with the first residents already starting to move in.
It is the first completed Australian development for R&F Property Australia, which is part of the global R&F group and has plans for several other prime south-east Queensland projects.
R&F Property Australia’s commitment to building all three towers concurrently helped the project set a new record for Hutchinson Builders with 80 levels across three towers completed in only 23 months.
Designed by leading Brisbane-based architects Bureau Proberts, each tower has access to an expansive recreation deck on level six, featuring a 25-metre lagoon pool and barbecues and alfresco dining areas.
Residents will also enjoy a host of other exclusive amenities, including two spas, lush rooftop terraces, three plunge pools with bird’s eye views, a gymnasium, theatre, children’s playroom and other entertainment spaces.
Brisbane 1 provides a wide range of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, starting from $418,000, and 3 and 4-bedroom penthouses for luxury sky high living, priced up to $2.4 million.
A retail component on the ground floor is expected to include a café and other convenient services.
R&F Property Australia Vice President Thomas Chiu said the completion of construction was an exciting milestone in the ongoing transformation of South Brisbane.
“We specialise in the urban renewal of under-utilised land by reimagining spaces to create projects that meet with the changing needs of fast-growing cities such as Brisbane,” he said.
“Brisbane 1 has transformed the site of a former TAFE college into a premier residential community on the doorstep of a huge array of cultural, entertainment, employment, transport and educational services, and only 1 kilometre from the CBD.”

“As the largest new development in the suburb, Brisbane 1 also created more than 4,000 direct and indirect jobs for local workers with around 400 workers on site each day during the construction period.”
Hutchinson Builders chairman Scott Hutchinson said the company was extremely pleased with the record pace of construction achieved on the Brisbane 1 project.
Brisbane 1 features an expansive lobby with warm timber and stone textures and floor to ceiling glass, setting the tone for the stunning glass façade that is a hallmark of the towers.
Apartments offer premium inclusions such as stone benchtops, European appliances, timber cabinetry, generous built-in wardrobes, recessed lighting and wool blend carpets together with natural colour palettes throughout.
Floor to ceiling windows in each apartment are tinted and double glazed for reduced energy costs while offering extensive natural light and maximising the river, city, mountain and regional views in all directions.
All apartments have balconies for outdoor living and entertainment in addition to Brisbane 1’s extensive common recreation areas.
Apartments and penthouses on the top floors come with 3-metre ceilings, three bedrooms, three bathrooms and large balconies or private rooftop terraces.
