Property industry veteran Callan Ainsaar has been appointed project director of the $700 million Eynesbury development
A new project director has been announced to oversee Victoria's $700 million Eynesbury development, with Callan Ainsaar appointed to the role.
Mr Ainsaar joins the project from Stockland, where he has spent the past 13 years working in planned communities.
He said he was looking forward to contributing to the strategic direction of the development when work recommenced later in the year.
"I’m looking forward to the scope of the project, which has the potential to be one of the most exciting projects in Australia in terms of scale and end-use,” he said.
Eynesbury, which boasts one of Victoria’s largest Grey Box forests and beautifully restored heritage buildings, will soon see the development of new schools, town centre, shops and sporting facilities.
Earlier this year the state and federal governments, local councils and sporting groups joined forces to invest about $9 million to build a new sporting and recreation precinct at Eynesbury.
About three thousand new properties will be erected at the acclaimed Eynesbury Estate, which was once owned by the Baillieu Family.
Mr Ainsaar is no stranger to the area, having previously been responsible for the management and delivery of large-scale projects in the vicinity including Mt Atkinson and Grandview, both located within the City of Melton, and The Grove located within the City of Wyndham.

He said he had already identified some key areas to focus on.
“Some of the first things on my to-do list include awarding a civil contract to start building nearly 260 residential lots as well pushing forward with the delivery of key infrastructure such as Greenhill Road.
“There’s already an established community at Eynesbury and the golf course is a magnet for enthusiasts from across the state because of its picturesque location and central proximity to Geelong, Ballarat, and Melbourne.
“We’ve been given the opportunity at Eynesbury to create something special.”
Resimax Chief Executive Officer, Steve Hooker, said Callan’s extensive experience leading similar projects in the area made him the perfect person to take the reins at Eynesbury.
“We’re pleased to be able to appoint such a highly experienced project director to Eynesbury, and the team is looking forward to making the area even more unique,” he said.
“Already we’ve been working in the background planning road infrastructure, refreshing and maintaining existing amenities, as well as planning new ones, and engaging the state government on the delivery of a new primary school and active open space within the development.
“Having Callan on the team is really going to ensure things move quickly and run smoothly.
"The broad range of amenities will make Eynesbury an enviable destination for everyone from first home buyers to families and retirees looking for a tree change.”
Mr Ainsaar's appointment follows the announcement of a joint venture between Resimax and Hyde Property Group.
