Known as The Foothills, the project will transform the site of the former CSIRO headquarters in the foothills of Mount Ainslie.
Previously envisaged as a 600-unit development over the four-hectare site, Doma has changed designs following public consultation to maximise green space within the precinct and gain National Capital Authority (NCA) approval for its concept plan.
It has now reduced the number of homes to 241 consisting of approximately 112 apartments and 129 townhouses, ranging from 67 square metre one-bedroom apartments to 225 square metre four-bedroom townhouses.

The developer will soon lodge an application with the NCA for the first stage of The Foothills which will include a mix of apartments, townhouses and communal amenity.
Doma Managing Director Jure Domazet welcomed the NCA approval and said the company hoped to launch the project to the public in early 2020 and begin onsite works later in the year.
Marketed by Colliers International, apartments in The Foothills are expected to start at approximately $400,000 for a one-bedroom apartment while townhouses will start at around $750,000 for two-bedrooms.
“The Foothills will solely be a residential development,” Mr Domazet said.
“In terms of communal amenity, Doma continues to strive to provide homes well-served by high-quality features that make residents’ lives easier and more enjoyable.
“We anticipate The Foothills will include a pool, tennis court, gym, theatre, internal park areas and even a concierge service.
“Due to its location, The Foothills offers the best of both worlds – city living and the great outdoors.
"It is only 1km from the CBD, yet when residents come home, they will be surrounded by greenspace and can escape into the nature reserve for exercise or to simply commune with nature."
