Premier penthouse and accompanying sub-penthouse apartment sold for more than $140 million.
Lendlease’s One Sydney Harbour residential project at Barangaroo South has smashed the Australian record for the nation’s most expensive home, after selling its premier penthouse and accompanying sub-penthouse apartment in ‘one line’ for more than $140 million.
The two-storey penthouse also breaks the elusive $100,000 per square metre barrier.
The penthouse has been specifically designed as a single residence, allowing the additional third floor – which forms part of the overall home – to function as a separate residence.
At a glance:
The entire holding spans the top three floors of the tallest of One Sydney Harbour’s three luxury residential towers which have been designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect, Renzo Piano.
The total home includes nine-bedrooms, with more than 1,600 square metres of curated living space with eight-metre-high ceilings, a private roof-top pool, spa and gymnasium.
One Sydney Harbour is setting a new benchmark in Sydney’s luxury apartment market and is the much-anticipated final piece in Lendlease’s existing award-winning waterfront residential, commercial, restaurant and retail precinct Barangaroo South.
Consisting of three towers, One Sydney Harbour is located in the heart of one of Sydney’s largest and most successful dining precincts which is already home to 20,000 workers and thousands of visitors every week.
The first of three luxury towers is 72 storeys and home to 317 apartments. The tower is set to be 247 meters tall with views available north to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, as well as views west across Darling Harbour and to the Blue Mountains.
CEO Property, Lendlease, Kylie Rampa described the sale of the penthouse at One Sydney Harbour as an historic marker in the Australian property market.
“The sale of the penthouse at One Sydney Harbour is a paradigm shift for the Australian property market with an apartment claiming the title of Australia’s most valuable residential property for the first time, a title historically reserved for significant houses,” Rampa said.
“The record-breaking penthouse sale is confirmation that the Barangaroo South precinct is a world-leading location where people aspire to live, work and visit.
“Demand for residences throughout the tower has been extremely high, attracting strong local and global interest.
“A key differentiator for the One Sydney Harbour towers is that we’ve curated the entire precinct surrounding it, which ensures everything works together, complements each other and is considered holistically.”
