Luxury developer Gurner™ has confirmed the impending launch of its landmark new project, Victoria and Vine, that will transform an entire suburban block into a $280m luxury residential and retail precinct.
Collingwood will soon be home to the 'building of buildings' from luxury developer Gurner™.
Victoria and Vine will offer a significant focus on three, four and five bedroom residences with 34 penthouse sized residences ranging from $980,000 up to $7,500,000 for a luxury 350-400sqm offering.
Bordered by Cambridge Street, Victoria Parade, Derby Street and Wellington Street, the project is arguably on one of the largest infill sites this close to the CBD with over 200m of street frontage.
The project has been architecturally designed by Cox Architecture to deliver nine unique building forms that use juxtaposing materials and finishes to each offer their own individual identity.
Tim Gurner said a vibrant street frontage would pay homage to the rich tapestry of warehouse-style, historic buildings for which New York’s Meatpacking district and Collingwood are both so well known.
“ The project was inspired by a recent trip to the Meatpacking district in New York where I fell in love with the raw materiality, steel frame windows and play on light and shadows that creates something truly unique,” he said.
“ We refer to it a ‘building of buildings’ - from the street level it will feel like you are walking the length of an urban street in the Meatpacking district or Greenwich village, populated by several buildings of juxtaposing materials and architectural form – something never done before in Australia.
“We are testing the market demand for luxury three bedroom penthouses at prices that aren’t commonly seen in Collingwood however given the project’s location on the cusp of East Melbourne and the sheer dedication to the interiors, materiality and amenities, we believe the market is not only there, but ready for a luxury offering of this calibre and in this price bracket in Collingwood."
The buildings have been carefully curated to ensure they do justice to the historical significance of Collingwood’s Foy and Gibson precinct, using reclaimed brickwork and industrial masonry elements such as metal-framed windows and floor-to- ceiling glass cavities and voids, applied differently across each of the nine smaller buildings.
The 200 metre combined street frontage will be anchored by 11 retail tenancies at ground level, creating industrial-inspired spaces for world-class food and beverage operators to join Collingwood’s thriving hospitality scene.
Victoria and Vine will deliver more than 4,500 square metres of resident amenity over four different levels.
Titled the V&V Private Club, key amenity will include a health club, rooftop lounge, multiple spa retreats and private dining facilities, a rooftop infinity pool and sundeck, an outdoor cinema, co-working space and business lounge, NYC-inspired bar and library, teppanyaki bar and a number of rooftop retreat spaces.
The developer has enlisted world-renowned interior designer, David Hicks, to collaborate on the interiors, creating two different collections that speak to the two unique locations that bookend the project.
