Melbourne coworking operator, The Commons, has officially entered the Sydney with a new location at Chippendale.
The Commons has come to Sydney.
A new cowork space from the Melbourne operator has opened its doors at Chippendale.
Capable of housing 550 workers, The Commons Sydney Central already counts Change.org and UK startup Perkbox amongst its clients.
It is the third location from co-founders Cliff Ho and Tom Ye, who have also opened spaces South Melbourne and Collingwood.
Mr Ho said they aimed to expand their 11,000 square metre portfolio to 40,000 square metres with another 15 offices in the next three years.
“As the coworking market matures in Australia, Sydney was the obvious next step for us," he said.

"With over 1,000 members at our three locations, it’s clear that the flexibility of shared office space is incredibly appealing for startups, and even established businesses."
“Coworking in Australia takes up just 0.6 per cent of total office stock so the biggest driver at The Commons is to offer an environment that encourages companies to thrive alongside each other.”
Situated within a three-storey, refurbished brick warehouse, The Commons Sydney Central features a photography studio, podcast studio, maker space, basketball court, wellness program, onsite cafe and library.
There is also 14 private meeting rooms, 14 phone booths and ten casual meeting rooms.
Mr Ho said the space was designed with a human-centred mindset.
“At each location, we centre the design around ensuring members are able to not only work comfortably but also achieve the often elusive work/life balance," he said.
“For instance, in Australia 53.4 per cent of mothers are active in the workforce, so we have introduced a private room that caters specifically to new mums."
