The revitalisation of an iconic Canberra location is at the centre of new retail space on offer through Colliers.
The site of one of Canberra's first cinemas is set to have some coming attractions as part of Highgate retail space.
Colliers International are offering nine units ranging from 31-111 square metres within the mixed-use development in the city's CBD.
The retail opportunities are part of the revitalisation of City Walk, which connects Canberra Centre, Glebe Park and Canberra Casino.
Colliers International Office Leasing Director Michael Ceacis said Highgate was the final step of a rebuilding process that began after the closure of the City Walk cinema in 2006.
“If you were to look up the definition of renew in the dictionary, I think you might find a photo of Highgate,” he said.
"City Walk is one of the best locations in the CBD, but it has been a little unloved when it comes to amenity that attracts activity.
"With sophisticated eating and shopping options slowly opening nearby, Highgate will be the final piece that re-establishes City Walk as a favourite destination."
Construction on Highgate was completed at the end of last year by Morris Property Group, which also build Canberra’s No Name Lane.
Mr Ceacis said Highgate's location meant businesses "couldn't help but see the opportunity".
