The development site is located in Greater Flagstone, which is strategically located in the Logan growth corridor, 45km south-west of the Brisbane CBD, and will be a key location for Brisbane’s future urban growth. 

Core to this growth area is the Flagstone City development.

Ray White’s Associate Director of Special Projects Andrew Burke, who brokered the deal with colleague Matthew Fritzsche, says the sale is a significant milestone for Peet Limited’s Flagstone development.

“Over the next 30 years, more than 12,000 homes will be delivered within the residential neighbourhoods that surround the city centre, along with services and employment for thousands of people. This is a great stepping-stone for a critical project,” Mr Burke told WILLIAMS MEDIA.

“This is a landmark sale for future residents of Flagstone City. Catholic Education is a major provider of schooling across the country, so to have an institution offering prep to year 12, is a major drawcard for families.”

Mr Burke said the deal, which followed a five-week expression of interest period in 2017, would be a major drawcard for future residents.

“Flagstone City will have everything a family could need. From medical and technology facilities, through to shopping and entertainment, there will be something for everyone,” Mr Burke said.

“But something that underpins all of this is a child’s education. To have such a high-profile education provider in the city could be the catalyst for families or couples planning a family to see Flagstone as a serious option to set up home in."

Brisbane Catholic Education’s (BCE) Executive Director, Pam Betts, says the purchase reflected her organisation’s commitment to providing first-class Christian education in rapidly-developing areas throughout south-east Queensland.
 
“The new college will ultimately cater for around 1,800 students from Prep to Year 12 and will be a real attraction for young families moving into the Flagstone region,” Ms Betts said.
 
Pending government and funding approvals, BCE is hopeful of opening the college in 2023.
