Budi Pradono Architects have designed a modern home inspired by Indonesian tradition.
Budi Pradono Architects have designed this modern "Clay House" in Lombok, Indonesia.
This Villa is set on a hill in Selong Belanak, a beachside area in the southern West Nusa Tenggara province of Lombak – an Indonesian island east of Bali.
The home is comprised of two volumes (shipping containers) one on a 60 degree angle which blends modern design with Indonesian building traditions while taking advantage of views of its rice patty surroundings and out to the Indian Ocean.
Budi Pradono Architects have used a similar design inspiration in a previous project in Jakarta dubbed The Slanted House.
A lap pool leads from the home and also has views extending to the ocean.
The residence will be become a landmark in its surroundings, which are relatively undeveloped according to Budi Pradono Architects.
