AVJennings CEO Phil Kearns said The Stellar Collection was a game changer for the future of Australian housing with homes able to be constructed in just three months from slab down.
Leading residential developer AVJennings is wrapping up 2023 with nearly 50 homes in its game changing energy efficient Stellar Collection either under construction or planned for next year.
The Stellar Collection are architect-designed homes incorporating Pro9 walling systems that achieve a Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme rating of between 8 and 9.4 stars, saving homeowners more than 50 per cent on their heating and cooling costs.
AVJennings is building The Stellar Collection homes at its communities across Australia including two at Evergreen, Spring Farm and six double-storey terrace homes at Argyle, Elderslie in New South Wales with a further five at Aspect in Mernda and 15 at Lyndarum North, Wollert in Victoria.
Work is due to start on another eight homes at the Riverton community in Jimboomba, Queensland, where AVJennings previously achieved a 9.4 energy star rating on completed homes.
The Stellar Collection is also set for another boost with construction beginning on Pro9’s manufacturing facility on the NSW Central Coast at Tuggerah with capacity for 1000 walling systems per year, some of which are destined for the new Stellar Collection homes.
AVJennings entered into a joint venture with Pro9 earlier this year to support expanded production of Pro9’s energy efficient walling system in Australia.
AVJennings CEO Phil Kearns said The Stellar Collection was a game changer for the future of Australian housing with homes able to be constructed in just three months from slab down.
“The Stellar Collection is part of our commitment to delivering sustainable thriving communities throughout Australia with quality energy-efficient homes that are not just more environmentally responsible, but also save owners on their power bills,” Mr Kearns said.
“When the new manufacturing facility comes online early next year, we’ll be able to ramp up construction of the new homes using this walling technology.
“Mr Kearns said, "We recently showcased the unique building process at Evergreen in Spring Farm where our guests were able to see the crane installation of two walls on one of our new homes"
“Attendees were then able to walk through a Stellar Collection home at lock up and stage and see for themselves the quality of the finished product.”
AVJennings has been working with Pro9 since 2020 and in 2021 introduced the innovative technology into three homes at its Evergreen community in Sydney.
Pro9 walls are built with galvanised steel frames, R4 rated foam insulation and A1 rated fireproof boards to create an airtight home environment with strong thermal properties leading to a stable temperature inside the house.
AVJennings has added double-glazed windows and sliding doors to reduce heat conduction by a factor of four compared to ordinary single glazing.
Mr Kearns said the start of construction on the manufacturing facility was an important milestone for the housing market in Australia.
“Smarter more energy efficient houses are the future and a way of cutting down on our carbon emissions as we move towards a Net Zero economy.”
Pro9 CEO Nick Wilson said the Evergreen event was a key demonstration of the effectiveness of the Pro9 walls.
“Attendees saw how quickly we are able to put up the walls and cut down on construction timeframes to deliver quality energy efficient homes,” he said.
